The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. ·Perform engineering tasks in support of the C/T engineering group. ·Conduct system tests (software and hardware), collect and analyze data on equipment performance. Troubleshoot equipment/system anomalies. ·Initial assignments will focus on development of Radio Frequency Telemetry used during ground processing and vehicle launch throughout the full development cycle including requirements development, testing, and operational use. ·Candidates will be required to apply knowledge of technical principles, vehicle processing operations concepts, ground to vehicle interfaces, and vehicle/ground system design and operation. Additional responsibilities in system training, vehicle processing, and launch certification will follow. ·Candidate will perform engineering work in preparation for assembly, test, processing, and launch of NASA's Space Launch System in support of the Artemis program. ·Candidate will be expected to accomplish testing & operations independently (software and hardware testing), and act as Task Team Leader for assignments involving C/T. ·Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. ·Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Level 1 candidates will possess a BS in Engineering (Electrical / Software/ Aerospace preferred) or technical equivalent from an accredited engineering school.
  • Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience.
  • Level 2 candidates require 4 years of related work experience.
  • Level 3 candidates require 10 years experience directly related to Aircraft / Spacecraft / Launch Vehicle electrical systems test & processing.
  • Depending on the candidate’s experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements.
  • This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel.
  • In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
  • Government security clearance may be required in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Aircraft / Spacecraft / Launch Vehicle processing background a plus.
  • Launch console experience a plus.
  • Software development (Unix,Python/C++) experience a plus.
