Join us as a Project Engineer for the FBM Modernization program where you will be involved in planning, executing and managing Boost Controls scope and program execution. Key activities you will accomplish in this role: As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Be responsible for managing earned value performance, metrics, and reporting for multiple control accounts spanning the lifecycle of the contract within the Boost Controls Team that is part of the PSOC directorate Manage control account performance, elevate concerns and issues where appropriate to program management, including other impacted control account managers Work with partnering organizations and IPTs to ensure all processes are appropriately followed and implemented to ensure smooth product flow throughout the life-cycle Identify risks and opportunities to the correct level of Risk & Opportunity Control Board and implement approved mitigation plans working collaboratively with the Risk and Opportunities Liaison/Integrator Serve as risk manager for the Boost Controls modernization effort which includes boarding risks at the appropriate level per the Program Risk Management Plan, execution of approved mitigation strategies that span multiple organizations within FBM Conduct closed loop corrective action to include thorough variance analysis, monitoring of cost/schedule mitigation activities and corrective action adjustment, as necessary Provide timely and accurate insight to key program impacts or opportunities to the Boost Controls Management and PSOC directorate Complete all earned value management (EVM) assigned duties to include work authorization document requests, estimate at complete review, schedule status, variance reporting, and comprehensive estimates at complete Accept responsibility, accountability and exercise authority to ensure cost, schedule, and technical issues Ensure that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures, schedules, and work plans Coordinate the planning, organizing, control, Integration and completion of Engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility Ensure Engineering is coordinated across Program and suppliers Over see proposal efforts to ensure alignment with program planning factors and needs Coordinating with other Boost Controls leaders in the tasking of in-direct reports within Boost Controls Foster a collaborative environment, mentor IPT leads and encourage continuous improvement throughout the Boost Controls team Negotiate resource commitments with functional managers across the FBM program Evaluate scope change requests, asses impacts and obtain necessary approvals while communicating changes to all affected parties

Requirements

  • Prior project management experience and/or Control Account Management (CAM) experience.
  • Understanding of project management and/or earned value management
  • Knowledge of program life-cycle and how early milestones may drive future costs
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance - U.S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a engineering field or technical discipline.
  • Master's degree in an STEM or business field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope.
  • Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very sophisticated problems and implement constructive change.
  • Basic understanding of project management principals (Cost/Schedule/Technical).
  • Knowledge of program lifecycle and how early achievements may drive future costs.
  • Experience using industry tools for project planning and tracking.
  • Experience throughout engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test and operational deployment).
  • Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in Business Rhythm creation and management experience.
  • Previous Proposal, BOE (basis of estimate), and/or Negotiations experience
  • Detail oriented and excellent problem solving skills
  • Team player with strong communication skills and positive attitude
  • Desire to enhance Program Management skills including communication, the ability to deal with unforeseen challenges, and building strong relationships
  • Desire to drive process efficiency and improvements in the execution of the EVM business rhythm
