Project Engineer / Pavement Engineer
About The Position
Oversee construction management of on-going civil construction project for airfield runway improvements / pavement resurfacing Review contractor’s Quality Assurance Plan Oversee and perform three-phase inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure the work is in accordance with the contract and specifications Review of design, comment logging and back-checking for Design-Build projects Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment Review and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities behind schedule Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes of meetings and conferences, payments, updated progress schedules, monthly progress reports, punch lists, field changes Review and process Requests for Information (RFI), and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications, and other locally generated documents developed during the course of construction Support construction contract modifications Perform critical path schedule review
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering and construction management experience
- Experience with construction administration and capability of handling large civil works projects
- Bachelor of Science, required
- Knowledge /experience in airfield runway improvements and/or pavement resurfacing
- Experience reading construction plans and specifications
- Good written communication and organizational skills
- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen
Nice To Haves
- US Army Corp of Engineering or other federal project experience, preferred
- Experience with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0), preferred
