About The Position

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support underwater marine inspection and rehabilitation projects for waterfront and marine infrastructure. This role focuses on the inspection, evaluation, and rehabilitation of existing marine structures and works closely with engineer-divers, inspection teams, and construction personnel to assess structural condition, recommend repairs, and support implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects.
  • Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
  • Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support underwater and above-water inspections of marine structures including piers, wharves, bulkheads, seawalls, and mooring structures.
  • Inspect and evaluate structural components such as piles, pile caps, decks, fender systems, and mooring hardware constructed of concrete, steel, timber, and composite materials.
  • Review and interpret diver inspection data, photographs, videos, and field documentation.
  • Assess structural condition, deterioration mechanisms, remaining service life, and operational limitations of existing marine infrastructure.
  • Perform structural capacity evaluations of deteriorated components and support berthing and mooring analyses as needed.
  • Develop repair and rehabilitation concepts, including preliminary details, quantities, and opinions of probable construction cost.
  • Prepare and manage inspection reports, engineering calculations, drawings, and technical memoranda.
  • Serve as a task or project manager, responsible for delivering inspection and rehabilitation assignments within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects, supporting regular communication, progress updates, and technical discussions.
  • Coordinate field activities, inspection logistics, safety requirements, and data collection efforts.
  • Track project budgets, schedules, and progress; identify risks and support issue resolution.
  • Support construction-phase services, including site visits, repair verification, contractor coordination, and response to field inquiries.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary internal teams and external partners on marine inspection and rehabilitation projects.
  • Assist with project scoping, fee development, proposals, and client coordination, including participation in client meetings and presentations.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to engineers, technicians, divers, and support staff.
