Redmond is looking for three Project Engineer Interns to join our team. We are focused on high value commercial tenant improvement projects, specifically in Chicago's loop and surrounding neighborhoods. Ideal candidates are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in construction management or architecture. Please note: This is not a construction engineering or civil engineering role. This role is heavily focused on CORPORATE INTERIOR project management and interfacing with architects and designers on interior projects.

Requirements

  • Candidates should have experience with interpreting drawings, and familiarity with submittals, RFIs, contract documentations, and COI documentation.
  • Top candidates will be rising juniors, seniors, or new graduates pursuing a degree in construction management or architecture from a highly competitive university.
  • Candidates should be able to read construction drawings and specification sheets and communicate professionally with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Our office is fast-paced, inclusive, collaborative, and solution-oriented.
  • Candidates should be self-starters who are open to learn, ready to work, and excited to take on new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general record-keeping and process organization for Project, Field and Estimating Teams
  • Create and maintain project folders, superintendent binders, and communication archives
  • Participate in weekly OAC meetings, document meeting minutes, distribute minutes and set agendas
  • Assist with submittal and RFI process for assigned projects
  • Assist with creation of project schedules
  • Assist with documentation on all assigned projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to proactively solve problems and create outstanding client experiences
  • Assist with Redmond Foundation Fundraiser event day-of support
