Wieland is hiring a Project Engineer Intern . The Project Engineer Intern will be responsible for assisting our maintenance, engineering, and operations teams by providing engineering and technical support for operational processes. This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site. Hourly Pay Range : $25.00 per hour Work Schedule : 7:00am - 3:30pm Pay Schedule : Bi-weekly At Wieland, we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be based upon various factors unique to each individual that may include but are not limited to years of experience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, qualifications, etc.

Requirements

  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree, in Industrial Engineering or an equivalent discipline
  • Demonstrates the ability to take charge/ownership of a project to enact change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and CAD systems
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the establishment of standards and policies for pollution control, quality control, testing, operating procedures, and inspection and maintenance of equipment in accordance with engineering principles and safety regulations
  • Spend time learning the process flow of 100+ different sub-processes utilizing 2000+ different stationary machines and 400+ mobile equipment to get an understanding of the products recycled.
  • Work self-sufficiently and with multiple teams (engineering, maintenance, EHS, production, and leadership).
  • Work in the field (including outdoors and in & around various industrial equipment) to properly assess current operating process to develop engineering solutions that increase safety and productivity.
  • Contribute to the support functions of the EHS teams.
  • Identify unsafe practices and work with EHS team to develop safe working practices.
  • Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of Capital Projects that help drive key strategic business objectives.
