The Job: As a Project Engineer, Electro-Mechanical, you’ll be part of our Tools Engineering & Technology team working as a hybrid employee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical engineering discipline, MSME preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in product development of Li Ion Battery packs and Battery Management Systems
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, a must, CATIA V5 preferred
  • Familiarity with Printed Circuit Board design desired
  • Hands on working experience for conducting various tests, analyze test data and make recommendations
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes for various electronics products including soldering, laser welding
  • Demonstrated ability to design plastic components, metallic components, working with various materials

Responsibilities

  • Design of Li Ion Battery packs including design of electronic packages for Battery management systems
  • Design using 3D modeling techniques, releasing 2D detailed drawings, creating and managing BOM from prototype level to mass production level of product development cycle in PLM system
  • Work with the product teams for power tool system integration including chargers and tools
  • Perform Structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis packages
  • Perform thermal analysis and thermal management for high power electronic assemblies and Power packs
  • Work with the model shop and suppliers to get the prototypes, attend product builds at contract manufacturer
  • Work with various disciplines inside the organization such as ID, Marketing, Manufacturing compliance, safety and purchasing to understand design considerations and Product CTQs
  • Perform tolerance stack ups, DFMEA’s, PFMEA’s, process control plans, release Engineering Changes, Design test plans, analyze results from advance testing
