We are seeking a highly motivated engineer who is passionate about delivering innovative, safety-focused products. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who works effectively across teams and enjoys taking ownership of complex technical projects. This role is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of hardware component development, including requirement definition, design execution, analysis, testing, and overall project management. The engineer will provide technical direction to cross-functional partners and support personnel, ensuring alignment, progress, and high-quality outcomes throughout the development process.

  • Develop and maintain interface control strategies and standardized interface documentation.
  • Create, update, and manage technical documentation for assigned components or subsystems.
  • Build and maintain global technical specification templates for subsystem and component requirements.
  • Lead the resolution of complex technical issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Capture lessons learned and ensure updates are reflected in best practices, requirements, templates, and tracking systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to align on design objectives and deliverables.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to supplier engineering resources.
  • Support supplier selection and sourcing processes from a technical perspective.
  • Develop and recommend technical solutions for new initiatives, major programs, and ongoing product improvements.
  • Perform detailed design analyses to evaluate feasibility, performance, and compliance.
  • Generate and maintain engineering documentation and CAD data to support design authority.
  • Partner with engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and other stakeholders to drive cost reductions, improve product design, and support prototype and production builds.
  • Oversee validation activities to ensure the assigned module or component meets all technical and performance requirements.
  • BS in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming.
  • Understanding of hardware design and failure modes in electronic modules.
  • Knowledge of vehicle serial data communications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and comprehending software/hardware requirements.
  • Knowledge of software verification/validation processes.
  • Knowledge of testing and associated tools.
  • Capability to translate text based functional requirements into software algorithms and models.
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • DFMEA training
  • Knowledge of software algorithm design and software architecture.
  • Engineering Change Management Experience
