About The Position

This position is part of the NBA Social and Digital Content team, which focuses on identifying, creating, and publishing content to the NBA's social and digital platforms and its many domestic and international partners throughout the world. The ideal candidate is an active consumer of social media and understands the latest social trends and viral campaigns. Additionally, they are passionate about the game of basketball and how to connect with NBA fans through creative activations. They will help support the creative activations function of the NBA’s Social and Emerging Media team. Lastly, this candidate has their finger on the pulse of the NBA and spends their free time immersing themselves in podcasts, message boards, or consuming short- and long-form content about the NBA. This is a project employee position.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the NBA, including players, teams, storylines, statistics, standings, history, and the league calendar; actively consumes NBA content on a daily basis
  • Understanding of the NBA’s social voice
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of platforms like Airtable and how to integrate AI into operational workflows
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and incorporate feedback quickly and accurately
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally as part of a team
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, as this position may include working days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the NBA calendar

Responsibilities

  • Support the NBA Social and Emerging Media Lead in day-to-day operations and content initiatives around creative activations and internal/partner campaigns for social and digital platforms
  • Maintain project tracking calendars to support team organization and execution timelines
  • Organize, maintain, and update notes, key documents, and other resource materials across projects
  • Assist in developing pitch decks and presentations
  • Communicate and collaborate with multiple internal departments to support cross-functional initiatives
  • Monitor social media trends, platforms, and fan engagement behaviors to help inform creative activations content strategy
  • Contribute ideas and creative input to enhance fan engagement and reach new audiences
