About The Position

The Project Director oversees and maintains the overall goals and objectives for major construction and renovation projects, ensuring alignment across design, bidding, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and compliance with code and regulatory requirements. Serving as a key liaison between Executive Staff, Facilities, Contractors, and internal teams, the Project Director plays a strategic leadership role and champions the company’s proven project delivery philosophy. This position requires a seasoned construction leader skilled in employee development, preconstruction and construction management, business development, client satisfaction, risk mitigation, financial oversight, and project closeout. The Project Director will also guide manpower planning and coordination efforts across VDC and MEP disciplines.

Requirements

  • BS in Architecture, Construction Science, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience as a Senior Project Manager
  • 1–3 years of experience as a Project Director or equivalent senior leadership role
  • Knowledge of school building design and construction systems (preferred/required based on client emphasis)
  • Strong understanding of construction estimating and procurement processes
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and applicable state/local codes
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with owners, consultants, contractors, and internal leadership

Responsibilities

  • Leading all project phases from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with project objectives
  • Managing design coordination, bid processes, schedules, budgets, and quality standards
  • Overseeing compliance with state and local codes, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Providing mentorship and leadership to project teams, including Sr. Project Managers
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and supporting business development initiatives
  • Managing financial performance, forecasts, reporting, and change management
  • Coordinating VDC and MEP integration to enhance project execution and efficiency
  • Ensuring timely and thorough project closeout documentation and turnover
