About The Position

We are looking for a Project Director for the Integrated Atmospheric Deposition Network ( IADN ). IADN is a project funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to measure and evaluate organic pollutant concentrations in the atmosphere (airborne vapor and particles and precipitation) at six sites on the shores of the North American Great Lakes. IADN’s target chemicals range from legacy pollutants, such as PCBs and organochlorine pesticides, to emerging compounds, such as brominated flame retardants and PFAS . The candidate will supervise 5-7 staff members, overseeing the operation of the six sampling sites, laboratory analyses and data production, QA/QC, communicating regularly with the EPA , producing reports and standard operating protocols, and participating in the analysis of the acquired data. The candidate will also be expected to co-author peer-reviewed papers and to advance the general research goals of the project. The Project Director will be reporting to Dr. Marta Venier (IU O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs). The position is based in Bloomington, Indiana and it is expected to last for 24 months beginning in the spring of 2026, with opportunities for additional years of support contingent on funding. The salary is commensurate with qualifications.
