From water to wire – Be part of the movement!Commercial Manager Charlotte, NC - hybrid   Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Controller with a background in Finance, Budgeting and project financial reporting. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on budgets, managing actuals against original budget plans and cost to come.  This role offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to tackle challenging tasks and grow professionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Experience in project controls, finance, and budgeting
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with financial data interpretation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on MS Excel (MS Excel, Access, Word, Project, SAP)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Government Contracting is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Creation of initial project forecast from participation in the Sales to Contract Execution handover
  • Perform complex tasks in project estimating, change documentation, and cost control
  • Monthly and quarterly forecast preparation: reconciling budget versus actuals and analyzing variances, risks, and opportunity tracking
  • Report to portfolio level on forecast variances and manage changes to cost on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Analyze and track change requests/variation orders received from customers
  • Assist with sales planning and billings to customers
  • Manage multiple projects with budgets ranging from $500K to $100MM+
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop budgets/forecasts and review actual performance.
  • Preparation of proposal and claim packages
  • Representing the Project Manager in their absence
