About The Position

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Project Director in the coordination and implementation of NJ250 initiative goals, timelines, and activities. Serve as a point of contact for internal departments, community partners, and other stakeholders involved in the NJ250 project. Support the planning and execution of NJ250-related events, meetings, and public programming, including scheduling, logistics, promotion, and material preparation. Track project progress and maintain detailed documentation of activities, timelines, communications, and deliverables. Assist in the preparation of reports for the University and funding agencies, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with grant requirements. Manage day-to-day communications and outreach, including drafting emails, newsletters, and social media content related to the initiative. Monitor and reconcile project expenses in coordination with the Project Director and fiscal staff; ensure compliance with University and funder guidelines. Facilitate the procurement of goods and services needed for the project, including working with vendors and University procurement systems. Maintain digital and physical files for the NJ250 project, including program materials, evaluation data, and administrative records. Assist with onboarding and coordinating student workers or part-time staff as needed. Represent the NJ250 project in internal and external meetings and events as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of two years of administrative, project coordination, or program support experience, preferably in higher education or non-profit settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain organized records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • High level of initiative, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google suite, Zoom, Canvas, and other relevant administrative tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting grant-funded projects or educational initiatives.
  • Familiarity with University financial, HR, or procurement systems.
  • Event planning or community outreach experience.
