About The Position

As the Senior Project Coordinator for the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), you'll play a key leadership role in one of the largest health system transformation efforts in Alaska's history. This position helps implement a five-year federal cooperative agreement investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually statewide to strengthen rural health care, expand access, drive innovation, and improve long-term system sustainability. The RHTP will fund both state-led projects and community-based projects through subrecipient awards to Alaska organizations to advance program goals. In this role, you will: Lead day-to-day RHTP operations and guide implementation across the Department of Health, other state agencies, and community partners. Serve as a primary representative of the program in public forums and partner meetings, including with Tribal Health Organizations, providers, communities, and statewide associations. Supervise and mentor three Project Coordinators supporting initiative implementation and statewide activities. Coordinate directly with federal partners, serving as the Project Director responsible for ensuring Alaska meets cooperative agreement requirements, reporting expectations, audit standards, and key milestones. Oversee evaluation and reporting activities to track program outcomes and support continuous improvement. Manage major contractors, including the statewide subrecipient administrator, and evaluation, reporting, and technical assistance partners. Provide leadership and problem-solving support to ensure funded projects advance program goals and improve access and outcomes for rural Alaskans. This is a fast-paced, high-impact position for someone who enjoys building systems, navigating complex programs, and leading collaborative work. Requirements

  • Program Oversight: Plans, coordinates, and monitors programs to ensure that federal, state, and/or local government program requirements and plans are met, providing professional consultation on the specialized services of the program or associated project(s).
