About The Position

The Project Coordinator serves as a key integrator within the
Policy and
Strategic Initiatives
team, coordinating projects and processes to promote
smooth collaboration and effective team operations. Reporting to the Director
of
Policy
at
the
Boston Public Health Commission, the Coordinator drives
team-wide coherence through tracking key project outcomes and coordinating daily
operations and
logistics
related to
the Live Long and Well agenda, community
health planning efforts, and policy development. In addition, this position
plays a critical external-facing role, managing communications and outreach to
key partners to strengthen collaboration, align activities, and support shared
progress towards the goals for healthy, thriving communities across Boston.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience in project coordination, program support, or administrative roles within public health, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations. Prior experience working in roles that support multiple team members and engaging with cross-sector partners is preferred.
• Candidates in this position must be highly motivated, capable of self-directed work, flexible, and committed to continuous learning and growing in support of team and community goals.
• Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and follow through with multiple tasks while maintaining outstanding attention to detail.
• Is proactive by anticipating and meeting demands with flexibility and good humor while supporting a dynamic team.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including strong interpersonal, written, and active listening skills.
• Strong familiarity with Boston neighborhoods, especially those that have faced barriers to health, and a demonstrated commitment to building partnerships and solutions that help all residents thrive.
• Ability to synthesize, prepare and present information, written and oral, including reports, presentations, and other materials in a clear, coherent, and concise manner.
• Possesses computer literacy skills, including demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, social media. Familiarity with collaborative project management tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working in roles that support multiple team members and engaging with cross-sector partners is preferred.
• Familiarity with collaborative project management tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support in the development, tracking, and implementation of project workplans, timelines, and performance measures to meet project goals and deliverables.
• Cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships with internal teams, community-based organizations, healthcare system partners, and governmental agencies to advance cross-sector public health improvement efforts.
• Coordinate planning and execution of stakeholder engagements, meetings, events, and hybrid activities and facilitate inclusive dialogue and participation.
• Produce and disseminate clear, accessible communication materials, including memos, presentations, reports, flyers and other forms of communication to reflect project priorities, activities, and outcomes.
• Contribute to assessing program progress and community impact, and help translate key learnings into clear and engaging reports and presentations.
• Work to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.
• Coordinate and support with drafting, reviewing, and submitting grant proposals.
• Help strengthen the project’s structure and practices to promote racial and health equity and ensure decision-making processes center community voice.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
