The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Operations Center (NOC) defends, manages, and monitors the network operating status and cyber security posture of the VA by providing the day-to-day management, monitoring, operations, and configuration of the Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) Gateways, the delivery of enterprise security systems and services, the conduct of threat and vulnerability analysis, the validation of adequate security controls within the enterprise, and the full range of functions across the spectrum of activities relating to incident management, incident response and enterprise network management.

  • Organizes and visualizes NEDIIS organizational team’s work
  • Captures notes, themes, and action items from meetings and discussions and determines next steps
  • Interact daily with GovCIO Project Managers and VA Executive management to interpret their needs and requirements
  • Collaborate on road map to lay out short- and long-term goals and account for deviations resulting in potential schedule changes
  • Maintain existing and develop new processes and procedures to improve intra and inter-team operability and communication
  • Enforce GovCIO, VA NOC, and intra-team policies and performance standards
  • Liaison between different pillars within the VA Organization pillars as well as NEDIIS Organizational Pillars
  • Monitor tasks and project status
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and techniques
  • Organize and schedule administrative appointments
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule meetings
  • Assist in the preparation of reports
  • Assist in accomplishing action items for Program Management, Pillar Leads or VA Executive staff
  • Ensures action items and milestones are fully documented, are being worked satisfactorily, and completed as planned
  • Problem solver who assesses requests, determines the necessary tasks, then organizes the team to successfully accomplish the work
  • Flexibility, ingenuity, creativity, diplomacy, and a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft tools – PowerPoint, MS Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field with 5-8 years of experience. 5 years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Experience with large IT enterprise environments
  • Experience with Federal contracting
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Tier 4 (BI) Government Background Investigation
  • Ability to achieve a PMP certification within 6 months of hire
