About The Position

Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a Project Controls professional based in our corporate office in Coppell, Texas . This role is responsible for training and supporting project staff in key administrative functions such as quantity tracking, cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and document management. The ideal candidate will help ensure alignment between field operations and project performance goals through consistent oversight and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project administration, preferably in heavy civil construction.
  • Proficiency in project management, scheduling, and document control software, with the ability to train others.
  • Strong understanding of Unit Price and Lump Sum contract structures and their administrative requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Cost Specialists and Project Controls Specialists.
  • Lead operations-related training, including Work Plan training, for project staff.
  • Assist in the development of APMs, PMs, and Engineers.
  • Ensure rapid and consistent implementation of project controls systems across projects.
  • Monitor and audit project controls systems to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide support for project mobilization and closeout activities.
  • Coordinate and support readiness review meetings and audit preparation.
  • Establish and maintain document control processes, including RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and meeting notes.
  • Confirm timely issuance of contractual notices and subcontracts.
  • Set up and maintain the company’s standard quantity tracking system.
  • Review and ensure project cost reporting aligns with corporate standards.
  • Analyze job cost statements and labor cost reports to identify trends and areas of concern.
  • Evaluate weekly man-hour productivity data and report anomalies.
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling to ensure alignment with corporate guidelines.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, ownership, and design teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
