About The Position

As a Project Controls Intern, you will engage in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity while applying standard data analysis techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong affinity for analytics & for providing insights based on data and is someone who will be strongly considering a career in power generation or large-scale/industrial construction following graduation. Join Gemma’s growing Project Management Office (PMO) team! The Project Controls Intern is primarily responsible for providing support to our Project Controls team to ensure successful project execution through planning, monitoring, and controlling. We are seeking an eager & driven individual to help contribute to project management activities for our active projects in Texas.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates a passion for power generation and/or large-scale construction and has a desire to learn more about the industry.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft programs, particularly Excel.
  • Robust analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns in data and provide relevant & actionable insights.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PowerBI and/or Primavera P6 is not required, but is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of the Project Schedule and Labor & Quantity tracking metrics for each project in accordance with scheduling and cost control department policies & procedures. Support weekly updates, and provide tools & reports to management.
  • Utilize, update, and maintain tracking using lessons learned and best practices.
  • Assist Site and Home Office Payroll in report creation and auditing support.
  • Assist with the creation of project-specific & payroll data visualizations.
  • Assist with weekly updates of the Project Schedules, Labor and Quantity tracking metrics
  • Utilize knowledge of scope control and change management.
  • Research technology in the construction industry for implementation.
