About The Position

GDIT is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Project Controls Engineer to support the development, tracking, and coordination of cost, schedule, and risk activities for a large, complex program supporting U.S. Strategic Command. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin a career in project management and program controls while learning from experienced leaders in a mission‑critical environment. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As an entry‑level Project Controls Engineer, you will contribute directly to the Information Technology Lifecycle Support (SCITLS) Program Office. You’ll work closely with senior team members to help maintain core program management processes that ensure successful execution across schedule, cost, risk, and quality. Help schedulers review activities, dependencies, and updates needed to support program milestones and deliverables. • Cost Tracking: Support the team in establishing the cost baseline and tracking cost performance. Assist with collecting resource data, helping prepare cost reports, and learning how to develop estimates-at-completion. • Risk Management: Work with the risk management team to help maintain the risk register, monitor mitigation actions, and support analysis of impacts to cost and schedule. • PMO Coordination: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, finance, contracts, and operations. Assist in preparing program briefings, reports, and documentation such as program reviews or customer updates. • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development of program processes, tools, and best practices. Help identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve overall project execution. • Team Culture & Collaboration: Support a team environment grounded in GDIT values of honesty, trust, transparency, and inclusion. Engage with colleagues and leaders to build strong working relationships and support program success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • No prior full‑time experience required. Internships, co‑ops, academic projects, or coursework related to project management, scheduling, data analysis, or operations are valued.
  • US Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must work in the office five (5) days per week

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of project management concepts (scope, schedule, cost, risk)
  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Excel (training will be provided)
