Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience in telecom permitting, construction, or a related environment
  • Internship or academic experience will be considered
  • Proven experience coordinating with municipalities and regulatory agencies on telecom or utility projects
  • Familiarity with DOT, utility company, or local government permitting systems
  • Experience with fiber optic design, small cell deployments, or broadband infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of telecom permitting workflows and construction documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with engineers, clients, and public agencies
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify challenges early and drive proactive solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently and remotely when necessary

Responsibilities

  • Research and interpret municipal, state, and federal regulations applicable to telecom infrastructure projects
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive permit applications for fiber optic networks, small cell deployments, and associated telecom equipment
  • Coordinate with utility companies, local jurisdictions, and transportation agencies to obtain permits and maintain compliance
  • Monitor permit statuses and ensure timely approvals to align with engineering and construction schedules
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), address revision requests, and attend planning or pre-construction meetings as needed
  • Maintain detailed records of all permitting activities, correspondence, and approvals
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to review and verify that construction drawings and plan sets meet jurisdictional requirements
  • Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverables by tracking permitting milestones and dependencies
  • Manage data files and documentation received from internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering, field operations, and permitting authorities to resolve compliance issues and keep projects on track
  • Support internal teams with document management and high-quality submittals
  • Contribute to the telecom infrastructure design and drafting, including fiber routing and conduit pathways
  • Understanding of AutoCAD (Civil 3D), MicroStation, Esri Products, and other tools to interpret and adjust detailed plan sets
  • Interpret and verify construction drawings, as-builts, and engineering specifications to support permit submittals
