Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (MCO+I) is seeking an individual interested in joining our team as a Global Project Controls(GCP) Project Control Intern! MCO+I is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services worldwide, including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners globally. As a Project Controls Intern, you will support the execution of construction projects across Microsoft’s infrastructure portfolio. You’ll gain hands-on experience in cost tracking, scheduling, and compliance while collaborating with experienced professionals. This opportunity will allow you to develop technical skills, build business acumen, and contribute to high-impact projects. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Exposure to construction project controls or financial tracking systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in cost management, project planning, or construction documentation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in tracking and managing construction costs across multiple projects, using tools like Excel and Power BI.
  • Support the creation and visualization of project data to inform decision-making and reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review documentation and provide feedback on site and building plans.
  • Participate in site surveys and contribute to the development of project schedules and scope documentation.
  • Help evaluate general contractors and subcontractors based on performance and compliance standards.
  • Contribute to safety, quality, and compliance efforts across construction activities, including adherence to Microsoft policies and regulatory requirements.
