We are seeking a Project Control and Integration Engineer to join our Powertrain and Electrified Controls (PTEC) team. Lead the Powertrain Controls delivery for Ford's Flagship Products as they transition into various electrified architectures like, BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle), Hybrid, and ICE (Internal Combustion Engine). As a Project Control Engineer, you will drive the Powertrain Controls Software deliverables and timelines to support development, launch, post launch phases of Ford's transportation portfolios; lead / support PT Control System integration and testing for electrified and gas products through High Level Function Testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years Automotive product development experience
  • 2+ years of experience Engineering Program or project management experience
  • 2+ experience with CAN tools and data acquisition equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in Automotive or Electrical Engineering
  • Solid understanding of Ford Global Product Development System (GPDS) desired
  • Ability to manage different projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Lead Program Management Sub Team (PMST) Vehicle Lines
  • Manage achievement of Program Targets:
  • Timing- ensure delivery of program's powertrain controls deliverables for GPDS milestones, build events, and software/calibration release requirements
  • Quality – facilitate delivery / implementation of new tech and software needed to achieve program and department quality objectives through Production, OTA and Service.
  • Represent Powertrain and Electrified Controls (PTEC) as key contact with Powertrain Program Management Team (PMT) & New Model Launch (NML).
  • This includes being lead contact to cascade information to and from the program to the PTEC teams, lead cross functional issue resolution with PTEC engineers and program teams, and alignment of delivery of content to programs for future production cycles.
  • Lead assessments and preparation for Engineering milestone reviews
  • Lead trouble shooting efforts for vehicle controls issues and bring in supporting teams as needed
  • Lead issue resolution for root cause (8D), permanent corrective action, and prevent recurrence for powertrain xEV controls related concerns
  • Lead the commissioning process on the first set of vehicles, Breadboards (ICE, HV and LV xEV) and Dynos in the prototype phase. Verify software and calibration level and functionality
  • Help / Train employees for hybrid vehicle development and testing:
  • Flashing PT modules
  • Reading codes
  • Programming Motor Offsets
  • Collecting and reviewing data
  • Troubleshooting/debugging vehicles
  • Utilizing the following tools for vehicle development and testing:
  • ATI
  • PT Diagnostics – MyCanics
  • CANAlyzer/CANape
  • DET – Diagnostic Engineering Tool
  • VDR - flight recorders
