Project/Construction Manager – North Ga Projects Description Project/Construction Manager – North Ga Projects SCS Technical Shared Services (TSS), Projects East Department POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for all project and construction management aspects of the North Georgia Projects at all the North Ga river system plants. This includes responsibility for all activities associated with engineering, contracting, procurement, installation, start up, and maintaining appropriate project controls throughout the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the scope, budget, implementation plan, and schedule for each site necessary to complete the project while meeting project goals. This position will have direct responsibility and oversight for the project site, construction activities, contract management, cost management, and contractor management for all project sites. The successful candidate will be expected to lead a team of professionals at all sites for the successful completion of these projects. The work location for this role will be in one of the North GA river system plants. This position will be filled as a Project/Construction Manager – Level 7 and will report to the GPC Hydro Project Manager. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: B.S. in Engineering, Construction, or another related field preferred Project Management Professional or similar accreditation/professional license beneficial Experience: Experience required in project management as related to engineering, procurement, construction, and startup Plant outage management experience preferred Ability to manage outside contractor resources Leadership role directing activities of direct reports or team Power plant operation or prior assignments within a power plant is a plus Experience with managing project scope, budgets, and schedules Resolution of issues relative to contractors and contract issues Assessing and mitigating risk on a continuous basis Must be alert for changing conditions on the project site and effectively and efficiently manage these changes Minimum of 2 years of hydro specific experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge required of engineering, procurement and construction processes Must possess strong project management and organizational skills Must possess the ability to build strong working relationships with internal departments, plant management, and other project interfaces Must have the ability to lead a strong, diverse team Must possess the skills to balance customer satisfaction priorities with those deriving from project and compliance strategy restraints Ability to coordinate outside resources as required and integrate them into Southern Company processes Have the ability to manage multiple project and activities simultaneously and effectively prioritize Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required Must be flexible, adapting easily to changing priorities TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Travel throughout the Southern Company territory will be required.
