About The Position

Turner & Townsend Heery are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to work on a phased AHU replacement project in an occupied state office building. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, be able to take the initiative and drive activities with limited supervision. On-site working is required Monday-Friday.

Requirements

  • Great time management skills. Confirm that project is managed to the right quality standards, completed efficiently and on time.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
  • Experienced working as an effective team member within the context of delivering construction manager as agent services.
  • Key information and data is effectively shared and appropriately retained.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Project Manager within the construction industry on addition/renovation and ground up projects, ideally including HVAC upgrades and phased, occupied delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.
  • College degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Experienced managing demanding stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant professional certifications preferred including Certified Construction Manager (CCM).

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, during the construction and close-out phases.
  • Financial management – Reviewing the change orders and payment application which are prepared by the A/E consultant. Updating the monthly report with budget status.
  • Quality Assurance - Monitoring the progress of the work, including daily field reports. Oversight of the contractor’s quality control plan.
  • Communications - Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through attendance at regular meetings and written communications. Progress meetings are chaired by the A/E and the A/E prepares the meeting minutes for review by the Construction Project Manager.
  • Identifying and escalating quality, safety, health and environment issues to the Project Executive as required.
  • Becoming familiar with and following the established project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout the project.
