About The Position

Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is seeking a highly motivated Analyst, Project Development, to support the organization's strategic growth and capital development initiatives . The Project Development, Planning, Design & Construction team is responsible for developing and executing HSS’s strategic facilities master plan, including facility programming, architectural planning, design, construction, and infrastructure modernization. The team plays a critical role in creating state-of-the-art environments that support HSS’s leadership in musculoskeletal care and exceptional patient outcomes. Working closely with the Vice President, Directors, and Project Managers, the Analyst will support the coordination, monitoring, and reporting of both routine improvement projects and large-scale strategic capital initiatives across the HSS portfolio. The role will also contribute to operational coordination and executive-level reporting related to planning and construction activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience in project coordination, analytics, facilities planning, construction management, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear documentation and presentations
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and adaptability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to capital planning, facilities development, construction management, architecture, or healthcare infrastructure projects
  • Experience supporting executive-level reporting or strategic planning initiatives
  • Experience with project tracking or collaboration tools such as Monday.com or similar platforms preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on project progress, including schedules, budgets, and key risks across the facilities' capital portfolio.
  • Develop executive-level reporting materials, dashboards, and analyses for senior leadership related to planning and construction initiatives.
  • Support portfolio-level tracking of strategic and operational facilities projects.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop communication materials, including presentations, written reports, and visual summaries for operational leaders, senior executives, and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex project and facilities data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Support financial and administrative processes, including purchase orders, invoice review, check requests, and documentation for capital projects and operational budget.
  • Ensure financial documentation aligns with organizational policies, budgets, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate with Strategic Capital Finance and other operational teams to support effective portfolio management.
  • Build strong working relationships with project managers and cross-functional partners across HSS.
  • Assist in reviewing proposed project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Benchmarks proposed costs against historical data and comparable projects within the HSS portfolio.
  • Participate in project planning activities, including facilities master planning, project development, cost management, and lifecycle capital planning.
  • Support the completion of the departmental review of processes and procedures and tracking of all relevant KPI’s going forward to ensure progress against goals.
