About The Position

Come and join LCRA for an exciting Project Analyst role in the Transmission Project Management Office where you will work with an excellent group of people. We approach our work environment with a focus on balance between teamwork and flexibility which means LCRA is currently on a hybrid schedule you will spend a minimum of two days a week at the office and have the option to work three days remotely (locally). You will be trusted to: - Create and maintain project plans, schedules and budgets based on a given scope of work. - Identify, monitor, and document variances and communicate project status and information to project managers and work package managers. - Resolve scheduling issues and resource conflicts and escalate issues to the Project Manager as needed. - Set up and maintain files in accordance with recordkeeping and records retention and documentation guidelines. - Handle the closing of project accounting structure and records retention once projects are complete. - Maintain knowledge of standard LCRA project management tools and software, including but not limited to the development and ongoing maintenance of project schedules and cost loading. Train others on the use of these systems. - Connect with project managers and team members, to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information. - Research and recommend new project controls methodologies to improve project management processes and leverage knowledge of standard methodologies and experience to tackle problems. - Provide support throughout the project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout; with an emphasis on the Initiation and Planning phases. - Ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with all applicable LCRA policies and procedures. - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of LCRA project control procedures and initiate process development. Advise project managers and management personnel on the interpretation of project control policies, programs, and procedures. - Actively support departmental continuous improvement and may be called upon to help develop new project delivery practices that improve overall productivity of staff and project managers or that address management problems. - Provide a high level of customer service and promote team building. Build strong relationships with peers, partners, and management. - Represent the Project Management Office positively and with professionalism.

Requirements

  • Nine or more years of experience in project administration, project management, accounting, business analytics, data analysis, budget analysis or administrative support or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in project management, business, accounting, finance, economics, engineering, construction management, math, science, computer science, information technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Transmission Line and Substation capital construction project planning and support experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Project Costing and data analysis.
  • Advanced skill in MS Excel, including proficient use of VLOOKUP, sum-ifs, pivots, macros, charts, and graphs, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methods and concepts, project scheduling principles, and budgeting and cost management; and in the department’s use of project management tools and software, including but not limited to the development and ongoing maintenance of project schedules and cost loading.
  • Knowledge of work management systems and methodologies.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication; analyzing and solving problems; planning, scheduling, prioritizing, and coordinating work within assigned work area.
  • Skill in using automated project management information systems and business information systems.
  • Intermediate skill level in office productivity applications such as e-mail, word processing, etc.
  • Skill in articulating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work in a team environment; and to balance contending high priority work demands
