Apex Companies is hiring a Project Accounting Manager to support our SWIMS Division in our Brentwood, CA office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or currently pursuing – preferably in Business Administration or Accounting
  • A solid knowledge of accounting principles
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS Office/Excel
  • Well organized and able to track and report information
  • Multi-tasker and Self Starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with one or more accounting operating systems is a plus
  • VantagePoint or Deltek product experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial management of large-scale and complex projects.
  • Lead, support, and mentor a team of Project Accountants for billings, collections, allocation of project costs, and revenue.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of the project profits and losses to management.
  • Knack for defining processes and KPIs for monitoring and analyzing problem projects.
  • Assist with the monthly closing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors as required.
  • Attend project reviews and meetings regarding your projects (financial information or discussions).
  • Support project managers on any project-related financial activities.
  • Support and develop ad-hoc reports as needed for management.
  • Support compliance on corporate initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with other project team members and elevate concerns to management.
  • Monitor Effort on Projects to ensure Revenue is recognized timely and accurately.
