Description Primary purpose: Lead the accounting and control framework for capital projects and fixed assets to encompass the full project lifecycle – from project authorization and governance to capitalization, in-service, depreciation, and retirements. Collaborate with various departments to ensure monthly capital forecast updates are attained and facilitate the timely closeout of projects and accurate transfer of Construction in Progress to various fixed asset accounts. Responsibilities Period Close & Accounting: Oversee asset additions, capitalization, transfers, retirements/disposals, and impairments in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP & FERC requirements Review, maintain and improve monthly accounting work papers in support of month-end and quarter-end activities Review various general ledger and fixed asset reconciliations and accounts Manage and coordinate monthly project accrual process and journal entries Ensure proper classification of assets for appropriate useful lives and depreciation methods Oversee the monthly closure of the Oracle Projects and Oracle Fixed Asset module subledgers, including performing project and fixed asset related journal entries at close and throughout the month as needed Responsible for preparation and/or review of audit schedules as well as other analyses for the year-end audit, including coordination with external and internal auditors Manage enterprise capital forecast and budget processes in collaboration with key stakeholders (Project Controls, Operations, Engineering, etc.) and FP&A Review project AFEs and assess appropriate accounting and project set up, as well as budget authorization Review and provide guidance to project teams related to the capitalization of projects and AFEs Serves as a subject matter expert and a point of contact for the Oracle Fusion Fixed Asset Module, Oracle Fusion Project Module, project set up, and project closure Setup, review, and adjust capitalized interest and capital overhead rates applied to projects Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure project set up and close out accuracy, collaborating to ensure accurate accounting and date placed in service Responsible for the coaching and performance management of any direct reports Maintain, review and update project and fixed asset policies Administrative oversight/maintenance of Oracle Fusion Fixed Asset and Project modules Perform generally varied and complex accounting-oriented duties in support of fixed assets requirements with minimal direction Develops and maintains strong and positive relationships and open communication with team members and internal/external stakeholders Deals with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism Provides support for inquiries and special requests from management, auditors and others Ensures compliance with internal control environment Speaks clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and active listening Maintains a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance Will work non-traditional hours as needed Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined Contribute to non-routine projects as needed Other duties as assigned Project Accounting & Review: Manage enterprise capital forecast and budget processes in collaboration with key stakeholders (Project Controls, Operations, Engineering, etc.) and FP&A Review project AFEs and assess appropriate accounting and project set up, as well as budget authorization Review and provide guidance to project teams related to the capitalization of projects and AFEs Serves as a subject matter expert and a point of contact for the Oracle Fusion Fixed Asset Module, Oracle Fusion Project Module, project set up, and project closure Setup, review, and adjust capitalized interest and capital overhead rates applied to projects Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure project set up and close out accuracy, collaborating to ensure accurate accounting and date placed in service Other: Responsible for the coaching and performance management of any direct reports Maintain, review and update project and fixed asset policies Administrative oversight/maintenance of Oracle Fusion Fixed Asset and Project modules Perform generally varied and complex accounting-oriented duties in support of fixed assets requirements with minimal direction Develops and maintains strong and positive relationships and open communication with team members and internal/external stakeholders Deals with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism Provides support for inquiries and special requests from management, auditors and others Ensures compliance with internal control environment Speaks clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and active listening Maintains a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance Will work non-traditional hours as needed Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined Contribute to non-routine projects as needed Other duties as assigned
