About The Position

Description Primary purpose: Lead the accounting and control framework for capital projects and fixed assets to encompass the full project lifecycle – from project authorization and governance to capitalization, in-service, depreciation, and retirements. Collaborate with various departments to ensure monthly capital forecast updates are attained and facilitate the timely closeout of projects and accurate transfer of Construction in Progress to various fixed asset accounts. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting (preferred), Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of previous fixed asset and project accounting experience; may be supplemented with experience in oil and gas industry construction and engineering projects
  • Understanding the accounting and reporting of transactions involving natural gas & crude oil transportation and storage
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of GAAP
  • General understanding and demonstrated ability with computerized accounting systems, operations analysis
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
  • Capable of working independently and with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated, a team player and able to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with financial reporting and preparation of financial statements.
  • Prior use and experience with Oracle Financial Cloud or other cloud-based ERP preferred.
