Summary/Objective: The Project Accountant plays a key role in tracking and reporting on the project’s financial performance. Essential Functions: The Project Accountant will be knowledgeable about all aspects of construction accounting and is responsible for the following: Input the monthly owner requisition Process and record Subcontractor monthly requisitions Ensure that subcontractors comply with terms and conditions of their contract (i.e. billing procedures, lower tier waivers, transfer of title, etc.) Process and select vendor/supplier invoices to be included in the weekly disbursement cycle Assisting with project setup and uploading the schedule of values Process change requests and budget updates Maintaining and Updating Accounting files as needed Process cost transfers when applicable Monitor and track the cash position of the project Support other Accounting staff team members with related tasks Work closely with Project Managers and Project Executives on all facets of project accounting and administration issues Ensure financial SOP’s are followed to accomplish timely and accurate monthly financial closings
