About The Position

VMG is seeking a Project Accountant to support our construction operations by ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across multiple projects. This role is responsible for tracking project costs, preparing financial reports, managing contracts, and coordinating with project managers to maintain financial integrity. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience in construction accounting.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in project accounting in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction job cost accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Procore, Viewpoint) preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting and project accounting for multiple construction projects.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, and revenue to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and process project-related invoices, payment applications, and change orders.
• Work closely with project managers to track and reconcile project costs.
• Maintain accurate job cost reports and provide financial insights to leadership.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review and process subcontractor invoices and lien waivers.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency.
• Support audits and financial reviews as needed.
