About The Position

The Project Accountant supports assigned project management teams by managing all project-related financial and administrative processes. This role serves as a key financial liaison between project teams, owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal finance departments. The Project Accountant ensures accurate job cost tracking, timely invoicing, compliance documentation, and alignment between accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project financial health throughout the project lifecycle—from setup through closeout.

Requirements

  • Strong construction accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable/receivable, job costing, and invoice processing.
  • Experience with construction project accounting, including job cost, AR/AP, and billing.
  • Contract administration skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in project closeout and financial reconciliation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of administrative experience, preferably in construction.
  • Experience with Oracle-based accounting systems.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Construction Software.
  • Experience with construction project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all project-related financial and administrative processes.
  • Serve as a key financial liaison between project teams, owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal finance departments.
  • Ensure accurate job cost tracking and timely invoicing.
  • Maintain compliance documentation.
  • Align accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project financial health throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Administer contracts, including prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Coordinate financial matters with project teams and external partners.
  • Track compliance related to insurance, lien waivers, certified payroll, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Manage and reconcile invoices.
  • Conduct project closeout and financial reconciliation.
