About The Position

Our client, a well-established construction organization, is seeking a Project Accountant to support active and upcoming construction projects. This role is newly available due to planned retirements within the accounting team and offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to grow within construction project accounting. The Project Accountant will work closely with project managers and the accounting leadership team, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 1–3 years of related corporate accounting experience strongly preferred
• Prior exposure to construction accounting (general contractor or subcontractor environment preferred)
• Familiarity with project-based accounting and cost tracking
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with project and field teams

Nice To Haves

• Experience with or exposure to the following systems is a plus: Sage 300 Oracle Textura Procore

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor billings and compliance through the Oracle Textura portal
• Compile and review required documentation to ensure accurate and timely owner requisitions
• Oversee project financial risk management, including compliance with subcontractor default insurance requirements
• Partner with Project Managers to track project costs and assist with the preparation and completion of project budget reports
• Review certified payroll reports to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance
• Prepare and distribute project financial reports for field staff and assist with interpretation of financial data
