About The Position

Our client, a well-established construction organization, is seeking a Project Accountant to support active and upcoming construction projects. This role is newly available due to planned retirements within the accounting team and offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to grow within construction project accounting. The Project Accountant will work closely with project managers and the accounting leadership team, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting .

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 1–3 years of related corporate accounting experience strongly preferred
• Prior exposure to construction accounting (general contractor or subcontractor environment preferred)
• Familiarity with project-based accounting and cost tracking
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with project and field teams

Nice To Haves

• Experience with or exposure to the following systems is a plus: Sage 300 Oracle Textura Procore

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor billings and compliance through the Oracle Textura portal
• Compile and review required documentation to ensure accurate and timely owner requisitions
• Oversee project financial risk management, including compliance with subcontractor default insurance requirements
• Partner with Project Managers to track project costs and assist with the preparation and completion of project budget reports
• Review certified payroll reports to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance
• Prepare and distribute project financial reports for field staff and assist with interpretation of financial data
