About The Position

Works under the general supervision of an assigned Program Team Manager. Plans, coordinates, and implements programs, activities, and services for children, teens or adults in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEAM) development, job and career development, cultural enrichment, life-long learning, and literacy development. Works collaboratively with the Adult, Teen, and Children’s Services Coordinators, and branch library staff to generate and implement programs throughout the library system. Explores original, innovative programs and services. Works in a team environment to accomplish project objectives. Maintains and administers all forms, reports, and records necessary for the accountability and evaluation of programs. Stimulates interest and promotion of programs and services through contact with library staff, the marketing team, library customers, interested groups, and the general public. Coordinates programs, activities, and programs introduced by outside presenters, authors, and educators throughout the library system. Prepares venues and library areas for events and activities. Assists with program activities related to the overall library systems. Researches current trends among children, teens, and adults so that library programs and services are in line with community interests and needs. Cultivates relationships with community members and organizations to garner feedback and potential program partnerships. Works closely with the programming teams to develop and cultivate children and pre-teens that participate in programs. Develops program curriculum, lesson plans, learning objectives, program assessment tools, and success measures. Trains staff on new program implementation. Participates in professional activities and training to strengthen project development skills, and to identify and understand programming trends in public libraries across the country. Delivers oral presentations to stakeholders, general public, staff, and leadership. Drives Library vehicles throughout the city and surrounding areas for meetings, to perform programming, give presentations, and to participate in partnerships with other business entities.
