About The Position

The Programmatic Yield Manager (CNN) will play a pivotal role in contributing to CNN's programmatic revenue growth across both display & video, leveraging pricing and inventory to influence business strategies to maximize opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic self-starter with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to think strategically while remaining detail oriented, brings simplicity to complex issues, and has a passion for working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. In this cross functional role, the Programmatic Yield Manager will work closely with Ad Sales, Inventory/Planning, Ad Technology/Operations and other external vendors to ensure targets are being met and risks are known at the time of impact. The candidate will have a background in display/video advertising environments, and familiarity with programmatic marketplaces and auction dynamics.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in digital advertising; prior roles in yield management, ad operations, or programmatic strategy strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with display and video ad serving platforms; familiarity with Google Ad Manager (GAM) and FreeWheel preferred
  • Experience working with SSPs/DSPs, and programmatic marketplaces, with a deep understanding of auction mechanics, pricing methodologies, and deal configuration/troubleshooting.
  • Deep familiarity and proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day programmatic monetization of CNN's display and video assets, with key focus on inventory utilization, yield management, and revenue pacing
  • Liaise with multiple business areas (Ad Tech, Ad Operations, Finance, Ad Sales, Accounting) to define best practices, priorities and needs to optimize programmatic channels—present actionable recommendations and strategic proposals for full transparency
  • Responsible for reporting and tracking of revenue across programmatic display/video deals and vendors
  • Acts as a point of escalation and diagnostics for internal and external parties
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and ad-tech partners from on-boarding through to activation
  • Keep up to date on industry trends and make tactical recommendations to maintain our company's reputation as a thought leader in the digital space.
  • Proven ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and execute on deliverables with a focus on achieving operational excellence and driving programmatic revenue
