About The Position

This position is located in the city of Santa Rosa. The Program Technician II provides a wide variety of clerical support including, but not limited to, document preparation, document review, correspondence and record keeping. Performs specialized duties consistent with the federal and state regulations related to services provided by the DOR's vocational rehabilitation (VR) program. These functions also include the understanding and utilization of all laws, rules, policies, procedures and management memos regarding State procurement processes based on Department of General Services (DGS) guidelines, statutes, regulations, and the DOR Rehabilitation Administrative Manual (RAM) policy and procedures. Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSMI), in the Redwood Empire District, the Procurement Specialist is part of a team of specialists responsible for case service administrative goods purchasing functions in the district using the approved methods of procurement. Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external contacts in a professional manner, and with integrity and respect
  • Ability to help facilitate expeditious resolution of problems from in-person requests, incoming phone calls and emails
  • Knowledge of DOR resources and processes, RAM, and federal and state Code of Regulations
  • High level of organizational skills and office equipment and processes proficiency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Knowledge of department's mission and goals
  • Experience communicating with and providing information regarding DOR services to applicants and consumers
