About The Position

Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) is looking for a Program Support Manager, Calling All Girl Bosses to join the Mission Delivery team. The Program Support Manager is a full-time position reporting directly to the Girl Leadership Program Director and Chief Mission Delivery Officer. The role is integral to our organization and encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, primarily focusing on facilitating the recruitment of adult volunteers and girls in grades 6-12, as well as recruitment efforts for Volunteer Awards committees, Project Advisors, and mentors for girls. Calling All Girl Bosses (CAGB) is a revolutionary recruitment and program approach designed to empower older girls to achieve the highest awards in Girl Scouting while also making a positive impact on their local communities. This mission will be accomplished with the support of volunteers, neighbors, mentors, corporations in their communities, and council staff who live nearby. Leading the charge will be a dedicated core team responsible for managing operations, providing assistance to local teams, and overseeing citywide objectives. The approach will focus on recruiting girls in grades 6-12 and volunteers in eleven service units, securing meeting spaces, and delivering a customized nine-month Girl Scouting curriculum. This curriculum will not only support the award process, but will also provide enriched opportunities for learning, personal growth, and fun for the girls. Requirements

  • Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to articulate the mission and goals of GSEP to the membership and community
  • Strong interpersonal and motivation skills to inspire staff, volunteer and girls
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to take ownership and responsibility for all performance related goals
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively
  • Strong management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to make effective presentations
  • Excellent writing skills and experience preparing written materials for use by the public
  • Experience planning and coordinating activities for large numbers of diverse participants
  • Willing to work nights and weekends as necessary
  • Attention to detail; ability to anticipate next steps in order to provide full customer satisfaction
  • Highly proficient in using data to achieve goals, and think strategically
  • Follow prescribed cookbook method of operations
  • Understand the standard operating procedures to maximize the opportunity calendar within Salesforce to engage membership
  • Adept at conflict resolution and problem solving; takes initiative in solving problems
  • Able to learn, understand, and apply case management system in Salesforce
  • Calm demeanor: ability to handle stressful calls/situations and handle rejection from uninterested parties

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related experience
  • Strong computer user skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and applications such as Salesforce
  • Experience working with data
  • Passion for GS Mission and serve as a council ambassador
  • Commitment to GSEP Operational Core Values
  • Valid driver’s license, car, and proof of current insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment Support: Actively participate in the recruitment process for girls in grades 6-12, volunteers, girl mentors, Volunteer Awards committees, and Project Advisors. This includes tasks such as assisting Community Engagement staff in identifying suitable locations for recruitment fairs and managing the registration process.
  • Training and Support: Collaborate with the GSEP volunteer team to make sure volunteers are well-equipped to support girls as they progress through the year-long program. Provide training and resources as needed.
  • Monthly Meeting Participation: Attend and actively engage in monthly meetings held in various areas throughout Philadelphia by contributing to the mission-focused aspects of these gatherings.
  • Information Dissemination: Ensure that relevant information about the highest awards and other program details reaches girls and adults, fostering an understanding of the opportunities available.
