Administration of Human Resource Programs

The Program Support Assistant plays a crucial role in providing administrative and technical support to various programs within the Department of Veterans Affairs, particularly focusing on the Housing and Urban Development - Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUDVASH) and other related programs. This position involves managing inquiries, tracking veterans' participation, analyzing data, and coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes, all aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of services provided to veterans.

  • Serve as the point person for questions regarding the MH Special Programs staff.
  • Provide administrative support in the management of programs.
  • Support the HUDVASH, GPD, HCHV, and Veterans Justice Outreach programs with specific administrative and technical tasks.
  • Track veterans in the HUDVASH program and coordinate appointments.
  • Analyze data from the VA Homeless Operations Management and Evaluation System (HOMES) and prepare outcome reports.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in documentation and ensure completeness of forms.
  • Maintain records, files, and publications related to clinical and business operations.
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes for new providers and trainees.
  • Schedule meetings and conferences, preparing agendas and handouts as needed.
  • Develop recurring and nonrecurring reports for management decision-making.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-05 level in a medical facility performing clerical and administrative support duties.
  • Experience in preparing forms and written correspondence for complex inquiries.
  • Ability to collect and compile data into report format.
  • Proficiency in using automated systems such as Microsoft Office to create spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Experience with data collection and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft systems.
