Program Info Parents as Teachers is a home visitation program that provides health and parenting education and supportive services to families.

Requirements

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent with two years’ of previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
Experience in working with vulnerable families.
Experience in working with culturally diverse communities/families and the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
Knowledgeable of and have maintained expertise in providing home-based services
Ability to relate to families from a strength-based model even in an apparently chaotic family environment; ability to approach families from a family-centered service model.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.
Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or four-year degree in early childhood or a related field and 5 years’ experience preferred

Responsibilities

Monitors direct service staff performance.
Monitors participant and staff satisfaction.
Assists in the selection of staff, participates in the orientation and in-service training, directs and provides case management, and monitors the performance of the PEs.
Conducts record reviews, assists in or maintains the data collection system, assists in or completes quarterly and/or annual reports, and implements a quality assurance plan.
Functions as the team leader: conducting team meetings, planning groups, and staff trainings.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
