About The Position

The Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and delivery of services within an assigned program. This role provides leadership and direct supervision to program staff, ensuring high-quality, client-centered services that align with organizational goals, policies, and regulatory standards. The Program Supervisor facilitates team communication, supports staff development, and ensures program compliance through performance evaluation, record review, and ongoing quality improvement efforts. Additionally, the position fosters partnerships with community agencies and stakeholders to support client needs, promotes a positive and inclusive work environment, and contributes to strategic planning and innovation within the program.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of mental illness and the needs of people with mental illness.
  • Knowledge of social service resources and community resources.
  • Knowledge of referral processes for psychiatry, primary care, specialty care, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions and willingness to champion new business processes within the program.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams, create workflows, and ensure a positive, productive and efficient work environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain receptive, open, and approachable lines of communication with clients and staff, and provide a friendly environment for visitors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including composing, proofreading, and editing.
  • Presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work as a proactive and positive member of a team to deliver quality services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of organization, personnel information, and client data.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and maintain healthy professional boundaries.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and set priorities.
  • Proficiency with a variety of web-based software and databases, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences (social work, psychology, or human services) or a related field from an accredited college or university AND have 2,000 hours (1 year) of experience in the delivery of service to persons with mental illness OR
  • Qualified as a mental health practitioner within the State of Minnesota by one of the following:
  • At least 30 semester/45 quarter credits AND 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the provision of mental health services. OR
  • 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the provision of mental health services.
  • 2 years of experience leading the provision of services to people with mental illness is required.
  • Previous professional experience supervising employees.
  • Must not be actively receiving services from Guild and must not have received services within the last two years.
  • A valid Class ‘D’ Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, satisfactory driving record and necessary insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to assigned staff to ensure compliance with agency policies and standards.
  • Provide supervision to team staff members with a focus on providing services to clients according to their functioning level, readiness for change, and facilitation of appropriate interventions in areas of health.
  • Evaluate performance of staff supervised.
  • Communicate responsibilities and expectations to staff, maintain communications with employees and provide ongoing oral and written assessment of their performance.
  • Facilitate regular program meetings to discuss changes in client needs that might necessitate changes in level of care, resources, etc.
  • Ensure that individual records are complete, reflect the service being provided and meet agency standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with social service providers, community providers, county providers, etc.
  • Collaborate with staff in problem-solving and advocacy for clients with a goal of building staff skills and independence.
  • Promote an inclusive, diverse, culturally competent, and respectful work environment.

  • Other duties as assigned.
