About The Position

Requirements

  • Ability to use a computer; familiarity with Word, Excel, and Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • 2 years previous experience working with adolescents with some supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication skills, de-escalation/conflict management skills, and time management skills.
  • If after shift, the supervisor retains on-call status, the supervisor must remain within 25 minutes of campus.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to comply with The Village Network requirements for using restraints including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training.
  • Ability to handle bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds independently.
  • Must be able to remain alert to problems, needs or emergencies that might arise on any shift, maintaining a safe environment for the clients.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels or personnel, internal and external to the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provides formal supervision of direct care staff including, but not limited to providing instruction and direct observation in behavior management, creation of a positive environment, communication skills, and developing appropriate/therapeutic relationships. Provides performance reviews for Youth Care Specialists; ensures yearly training is completed to ODJFS standards.
  • Works with groups and ensures proper coverage (with staff) and provides feedback to direct supervisor regarding implementation of outpatient groups. Complete accompanying paperwork. Supports the treatment plans for each resident within group and assists Clinical Therapist with developing intervention techniques.
  • Requires extensive on-call responsibilities including, but not limited to handling emergency situations and helping during staff shortages for any reason (ex. severe weather, makes campus rounds to assist staff as needed) Completes other administrative tasks including, but not limited to, creating weekly staffing schedule; approving vacation/other time off and arranges coverage for absent staff; inspects facilities to ensure licensing, health, safety, and maintenance requirements are met; assisting during special events, recreation time, and transportation efforts; and requisitioning/approving provisions including clothing, canteen orders, and Christmas shopping.
  • Involvement in youth discipline situations on a daily basis with individuals or groups, as the need arises, including Juvenile Court involvement and crisis intervention.
  • Performs other duties as required.
