About The Position

Mains’l 7th Street Centre for the Arts program focuses on creating engaging, fun, and crowd-pleasing performances for audiences and performers alike! At the Centre for the Arts, we encourage acting and theatre to promote self-expression in a failure-free environment. As a Program Specialist at our 7th Street Centre, you will work with talented people with disabilities in a creative environment ensuing they feel supported, valued and engaged in meaningful activities. The Program Specialist also ensures a safe environment in addition to supporting with caregiving responsibilities and supervision support. The ideal candidate would have artistic skills in fine art, music, and dramatic arts. Being a calm/ patient, self-motivated, highly social and attentive person will be key to the success of a Program Specialist working in this amazing position.

Requirements

Experience working with diverse populations
Ability to make decisions for the good of the students, program, and fellow team members
Ability to work with limited to no supervision
Ability to help plan events and activities
Good team building skills and ability to work well with others
Respond to crisis, following guidelines and plans
Must be able to support individuals to reach their potential
Effective communication skills including ability to write/document clearly
Willing to offer and accept feedback
Must like to have fun!
Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice
Have a valid Driving License with reliable transportation and car insurance
Pass a TB Skin test
