About The Position

This position is within the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training and reports to the Business and Government Outreach Associate Director. Will focus on organizing the development and delivery of business and government training, custom training, and program development, including staffing such activities with potential instructors. Will work with associations to manage their needs, acting as the executive director and supporting conference and educational needs. Will support the government outreach programs and may provide some support to their business outreach efforts. Assists with department policy development and organizing resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. Significant importance on strong customer service and responsiveness. Will collaborate with the with the other outreach specialist to support outreach efforts and follow-up communication. Will coordinate to track and monitor outreach efforts conducted from phone calls, emails, and meetings for the team. The individual will maintain a calendar of outreach and engagement events and support visibility in the community for UWGB. May attend community events and become involved in boards, associations, economic development organizations, or chamber groups based on the need to support the development needs of the department, including attending statewide conferences.

Requirements

  • Experience in supporting external business and or government relationships through consistent communication
  • Experience working within a sales environment
  • Demonstrated success in launching and maintaining collaborations and partnerships
  • High level of computer proficiency and ability to use database, spreadsheet, web conference, presentation, and word processing software applications.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team and independently in a high-volume work setting
  • A valid Wisconsin driver’s license and a working vehicle to travel and ability to obtain driver authorization through the University

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years of professional experience.
  • Experience in organizational development and/or project management

Responsibilities

  • Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-today activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
  • Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
  • Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
  • May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending
  • Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
  • Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
