About The Position

The Continued Approval Coordinator position is a highly responsible professional position responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing the state process for review and approval of teacher preparation programs. Employees’ time and effort are assigned to a dedicated function as is indicated on the monthly payroll. The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee’s performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position.

Requirements

  • Six years of professional experience working in Education.
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to communicate effectively including verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in creating and conducting training courses.
  • Experience with public speaking

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, enhancement and maintenance of the electronic Institutional Program Evaluation Plan (eIPEP) on the admission, completion, performance and employment of participants in approved educator preparation programs for state reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate data collection for the annual review of Institutional Program Evaluation Plans (IPEP) for initial teacher preparation programs (ITPs), Annual Program Evaluation Plans (APEPs) for educator preparation institutes (EPIs), and District Program Evaluation Plans (DPEPs) for professional development certification programs (PDCPs).
  • Coordinate data collection and reporting to meet established federal requirements regarding teacher preparation programs and graduates as part of the Title II Higher Education Act.
  • Coordinate data collection and reporting to meet state legislative requirements regarding teacher preparation programs and graduates, including the Annual Program Performance Reports (APPRs).
  • Provide technical assistance for data collection to all state-approved teacher preparation programs.
  • Plan, coordinate, manage and monitor grant applications, projects and deliverables for assigned grants and contracts.
  • Collaborate with bureau staff in matters related to program and policy development that facilitates the improvement of teacher preparation programs, including State Board of Education Rules pertaining to educator quality.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Program Director and Bureau Chief.
