About The Position

Under the general direction of a Technical Resource Supervisor (Administrator II), the incumbent is responsible for independently reviewing the largest, highly sensitive, most complex, and significant audit cases for corporate taxpayers. You will assist in the development of complex technical Tax Audit practices and procedures in areas where little to no legal precedent exists, where the potential for litigation is high, and where leadership and coordination is required. The incumbent is expected to clearly articulate multifaceted information while acting as a specialized subject matter expert in tax law. The incumbent will work well with people, work independently, handle multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities. Additional positions may become available (RPA 2425-01429, 2526-00968). Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Tax Law, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to interpret and apply tax laws to the facts and circumstances of audit cases, including cases with complex ownership structures, and multinational business activities
  • Experience examining apportioning pass-through entities and multinational corporations

  • Ability to prepare, review or present technical training and procedures in an engaging and understandable manner
  • Ability to serve as a resource for audit program management for special projects requiring independent action, departmental perspective and effective decision-making
  • Ability to lead statewide programs, practices and procedural issues to ensure departmental strategic goals, and directives are accomplished
  • Ability to develop and implement legislative changes on highly controversial issues
  • Knowledge of CM, TPF, Excel, Word
  • Ability to travel to in-state and out-of-state field offices
