About The Position

The Program Specialist will be primarily responsible for facilitating classes, completing Post Sentence Reports, facilitation of offender assessments, and assisting with various other groups and education classes under the guidance of the Treatment Manager. Conducts Risk and Needs Assessments as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited university or college with a B.A., B.S. or equivalent.
  • Experience in training, facilitation or teaching is a basic requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Case management experience and or experience in human services or the criminal justice system is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Treatment Manager with the coordination and facilitation of all assigned treatment classes, group and cognitive based programming in accordance with training.
  • Assists the Treatment Manager in providing appropriate interventions for all clients attending treatment classes and group and cognitive based programming.
  • The Program Specialist is expected to display and maintain a level of professionalism, ethical behavior and sound judgement in his/her daily interactions with offenders.
  • Assists Treatment Manager in conducting the RNA and other assessments as directed and trained and assists with the development of appropriate treatment plans for clients assigned/referred to the ACCP.
  • Assists clients in following recommended individual treatment plans and communicates thoroughly and consistently with the Treatment Manager, the status of offenders as it relates to client programming and assessments.
  • Assists the Treatment Manager with the resourcing of ACCP offenders into other programming and treatment as required and/or as court ordered.
  • Maintains thorough documentation and communication with the Treatment Manager in order to facilitate weekly reports to supervision staff.
  • The Program Specialist, as part of the treatment staff, will be responsible for attending at a minimum, bi-weekly meetings with other treatment staff and the Treatment Manager. This includes but is not limited to staff meetings scheduled by the Program Manager.
  • Prepares reports as assigned by the Treatment Manager and completes them in a timely manner.
  • Maintains appropriate credentials and training required for level of licensure and credentialing.
  • Submits to periodic and random drug and alcohol screens.
  • Abides by agency rules, regulations, policies, and the Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Employee is responsible for other duties as assigned from appropriate management personnel.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.
