Under general direction, this position serves as the Fleet Supervisor which oversees, plans, schedules, assigns and reviews the work of assigned staff in the Fleet Management unit; coordinates, monitors and provides technical input for vehicle disposal management, daily supervision of the PM, 3rd party vehicle title/registration, GPS programs, auditing, fleet asset management and fleet productivity analysis. Regularly required to work outside in the elements. May be required to travel in/out of state with some overnight stays. Oversee a staff of 5 direct reports.   • Manages and provides oversight and guidance to fleet staff in the development and writing of annual budgets, projected annual equipment acquisition costs, equipment replacement programs/schedules, planning (including fleet sizing), vehicle and equipment assignments and coordination of all business functions as necessary.
  • Directs, reviews and controls quality of work in the development of technical equipment specifications, procurement and disposal of vehicles, equipment and other services for the operation.
  • Recommends improvements and modifications in fleet operations and processes to ensure the most effective utilization of staff and resources; prepares various reports on operations and activities in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in analytical fleet business applications, fleet replacement models and utilization, public fleet management, cost control management, capital budgeting and/or policy writing.
  • One year of lead or supervisory experience in the fleet industry.
  • Possession of a forklift certification.
  • Current, valid class-appropriate driver's license.
