About The Position

The NYC Public Engagement Unit (PEU) identifies and executes proactive strategies to connect New Yorkers to key City services. Relying heavily on data analytics, new technologies, and large-scale outreach tactics, the unit identifies New Yorkers in need of assistance and helps them navigate and obtain City services. The Public Engagement Unit consists of teams of specialists who are trained to effectively engage New Yorkers and connect them with vital resources. The Unit uses data to identify demographics that likely want or need city services; and works with partner agencies, elected officials, community groups, non-profit organizations, and service providers to engage directly with communities and subject matter experts in all five boroughs. The unit is frequently involved in citywide events, special projects in conjunction with multiple city agencies, and targeted days of action. The Program Manager will support the Senior Director of Tenant Services on a number of key projects and programs across TSU. The Program Manager will develop plans for training, quality control systems, project manage new initiatives, review data and develop ongoing reporting tools, and assist with communication to internal and external stakeholders. The Program Manager will manage a team of project leads to ensure short-term and long-term goals are met. Successful candidates should be highly ambitious in his/her pursuit of growth and achieving excellence, have at least one year of community, health education or other experience, and excellent communications and outreach skills. Candidates should have demonstrated ability to closely track metrics and outcomes, be detail-oriented and organized and have the ability to multitask. PEU is recruiting one (1) Community Coordinator to function as a Program Manager for its Tenant Support Unit who will:

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

  • Have at least one year of community, health education or other experience
  • Excellent communications and outreach skills
  • Demonstrated ability to closely track metrics and outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of 1-2 to Project Leads
  • Oversee training and onboarding across all Tenant Support programs
  • Develop and manage quality control systems across all Tenant Support programs
  • Evaluate program performance to inform key decisions of the initiatives (both short-term and long-term priorities)
  • Closely partner with Outreach Managers to ensure reporting is accurate and up to date, and develop agendas for strategy meetings
  • Closely partner with policy, data, and operations teams to ensure teams have timely access to resources, education, and tools related to the program
  • Assist Senior Director of Tenant Services with project management of new and ongoing projects
  • Manage partner referrals
