About The Position

The Program Manager is responsible for the flawless launch of OEM customer programs for a Tier 1 automotive supplier specializing in metal component manufacturing. This role leads cross-functional teams from award through launch and engineering changes, serving as the primary interface between OEM customers and internal functions. The Program Manager ensures programs meet all customer requirements for quality, cost, delivery, and launch timing while driving financial performance and operational excellence.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field is preferred. Candidates with exceptional related skills, experience and/or training will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in Program Management within a tier 1 automotive environment is preferred. Candidates with extensive experience in similar roles (AQE, QE, ME) will be considered
  • Proficiently uses Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email system. Experience with Plex is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for OEM customers on assigned programs
  • Lead program execution from nomination through launch and any associated engineering changes
  • Manage all program milestones, deliverables, and customer commitments
  • Facilitate OEM program reviews, launch meetings, and escalation management
  • Lead APQP activities in compliance with OEM-specific and IATF 16949 requirements
  • Coordinate PPAP submissions, run-at-rate events, and safe launch activities
  • Ensure tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes are ready for SOP
  • Drive issue resolution during launch and early production phases
  • Drive lessons learned and best-practice implementation across programs
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve launch performance and execution discipline
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, customer requirements, and quality system
