About The Position

This Program Manager will be the driving force behind CDW’s internal coordination to ensure our partnership with LA28 is a success. The role focuses on aligning teams, managing deliverables, and fostering collaboration across the entire program to meet strategic objectives. The Program Manager independently manages projects or serves as a Project Manager within a broader program, ensuring all internal stakeholders are engaged and working toward shared goals. Responsibilities include overseeing every aspect of CDW’s deliverables—from planning through execution—while partnering closely with sales, PPM, marketing, finance, and co-worker success. This individual will coordinate efforts across CDW and with third-party vendors to ensure seamless execution. These initiatives are high-visibility and often involve complex, emerging technologies that require precision and adaptability. This position frequently leads mixed teams across multiple practice areas and service lines, managing intricate dependencies and timelines. The Program Manager also provides leadership to Project Managers within the program, ensuring alignment and accountability. As an advocate for the LA28 partnership, this individual drives results, makes critical decisions, and builds strong relationships across CDW to deliver on our commitments. Success in this role means ensuring every internal component of the program operates seamlessly to support this high-profile partnership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in program and/or project management, leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives within large organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi‑workstream programs with interdependencies, competing priorities, and high visibility.
  • Proven success coordinating and influencing diverse internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, finance, PPM, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Experience managing program-level financials, including budgeting, forecasting, budget‑to-actual analysis, and margin awareness.
  • Strong background in scope, change, risk, and dependency management within complex programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to take full accountability for outcomes, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in ambiguous or evolving environments.
  • Experience leading or mentoring Project Managers and ensuring consistent application of program management methodologies and standards.
  • Working knowledge of formal project/program management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, hybrid approaches) and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, define best practices, and contribute to standards and training.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to navigate organizational dynamics, influence without authority, and build credibility across teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to synthesize complex information and tailor messaging for varied internal audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to consolidate inputs from multiple workstreams and deliver clear, actionable updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and manage timelines across a broad program portfolio.
  • Ability to work extended hours or outside standard business hours as needed to support critical program milestones.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% or as required to support program needs, internal meetings, and key engagements.
  • Ability to understand, retain, and apply oral and written instructions and translate them into effective execution plans.

Responsibilities

  • Program Management Methodology Alignment: Ensure internal processes and standards are consistently applied across the program.
  • Financial Oversight: Track program budgets, consolidate financial data for leadership, and analyze budget-to-actual variances. Recommend adjustments and mitigate financial risks. Monitor margins and ensure alignment with CDW’s financial targets.
  • Scope & Change Management: Validate program scope and estimates. Assess the impact of changes and develop strategies to minimize risk and maintain alignment with objectives.
  • Strategic Alignment: Continuously align program scope with CDW’s business goals. Recommend modifications to enhance effectiveness and achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks within CDW’s internal landscape, assess their impact, and implement mitigation plans. Communicate risks and strategies to internal stakeholders.
  • Dependency Management: Coordinate dependencies across all program work streams.
  • Resource Planning: Proactively manage internal resource allocation, optimize schedules, and resolve constraints to minimize program impact.
  • Communication Planning: Develop and own the program communication plan, consolidating updates from all work streams for internal stakeholders.
  • Leadership Take full accountability for program outcomes and fiscal responsibility to CDW. Build trust through strong relationships with internal stakeholders and leadership. Navigate complex situations with diplomacy and professionalism. Champion continuous improvement by defining best practices, developing standards, and creating training for program-related processes.
  • Communication Synthesize information across work streams and deliver clear, actionable updates to internal stakeholders. Lead and facilitate effective meetings—both live and virtual—ensuring focus, clarity, and timely follow-up. Adapt communication style to audience needs and organizational dynamics. Develop strategies and content for internal presentations and craft strategic messaging. Use organizational awareness and multiple communication channels to deliver key messages effectively.
